Sanding And Urethaning the Table We built in 1981

This table has been used by quite a few in the family and many a school project was built and or painted on it. It was time to re-sand it and put some coats of urethane on it and the benches.
I put a third coat of urethane on it earlier today after it cooled off a bit outside and will do another in an hour or so. Hubby did a third coat on the benches and I did the fourth. I think that is all the benches will need. There are also two short benches for each end.
As you see the wood rack behind the hubby is all filled and waiting for cold weather. The wood shed is also full to the brim.
Stacking the wood on the last row and it is filled to the top of the woodshed.
Been hot the last couple of days and I guess this is the week of the last of summer as it is supposed to be mostly 90's for the next week.
I sure hope and pray we get rain soon we are very brown and the grass crunches when you walk.
The turkeys are really turning into some big boys.

Wood Gathering.

We managed to get the 5 cords we paid for and hoping we will be able to get another permit for at least another 5 cords. This was the last batch we brought home Wednesday evening.

I am so looking forward to next week and cooler temperatures. It was supposed to be like 85 tomorrow but I just saw they raised the temps for tomorrow to 91. Monday will be around 80 degrees F. yay verily yay. :)

The Lewis/Clark Valley has been 100 to 106. Last time I was down there it was 101. Even that isn't as hot as the valley has seen in past summers but that is hot enough.

I finished my walking stick this past week.

Smoke from B.C.

We have been getting a lot of smoke from the fires up north and we're almost as south east as you can get in WA. The further you go north the worse it is of course. I really feel for all those so much closer to the fires and sure pray they get them under control soon. Some days are worse with the smoke. The long range weather forecast shows smoke coming our way with those north winds all through this coming week as well.
There are supposed to be mountains back behind the tree line.

So far all we have managed to get in is 1 cord of wood for winter but a better start than some years when it is so dry. We are under a burn ban and it is brown and crunchy out there.

I am feeling better thank goodness. I lost July pretty much between sinus pressure headaches at the beginning of July and a bad cold shared with me at the end of the month.

I have been trying to work on a walking stick and it has been slow going.

I think I have all the family ancestors that I can find for one of my 1st cousin's wife. We will have to buy a new ink drum for the printer so I can print her pedigree sheets off. :)
One of her line goes back to the 1600's as well and a Montauk Sachem Wyandanch with a wonderful painting of him that was done.
