Lean-to Wall on Barn.

 Well the wall is up on the barn lean-to. Youngest son came up to help get it up. This will keep the snow out. The first section after the wall will be our new wood area. Yes, we had to build it from particle board as everything else is so expensive anymore. We have had it on our back lean-to for 12 yrs and kept painted it lasts a long time.

The metal inside is to keep the wood up off of the ground when it gets wet form melting snow.  We still need to cut off the long one. This is left over stuff we wee given 14 yrs ago.

Everything is turning colors.

We Have Sidewalk.

 

With three of us working and hubby being the main mule we got the sidewalks done in one day.

The smoke got bad today while we we working.

New Chickens Are Now All in Old Coop

It took quite a bit of work but the three month old chickens are now in their permanent home.

 The old bottom fencing that went into the ground, much had broken off in the last 15 years. We spent the last two days digging, installing and the cover the new before putting the new birds in. And yes I do help, I am the hander of tools, tie wires and the go-fer.

Way to hard to go deeper into the ground, rock and more rock with a hard layer of clay further down.

The visitor in the back yard while we were in on a late lunchbreak. Both dogs were sleep lol.

Cooler weather here and work.

We had some hot days last week but the last few days have been more like  end of Aug, beginning of Sept. It was 48 degrees this morning at 6:30. with 71 deg. F today. The highest we will get next week is a couple of days of 82 F. then back to mid to high 70's.

The outside of the new front porch is pretty much done. The inside is still left to do.

It was time to pull out the old posts around the garden that were 2ed hand in 2005 when we put them in. Some where rotting off at the ground. The new posts are being concreted in. Waiting for the concrete to cure.

We had a nice fire in our new pit :). We have added more rock since this and sand around the outside.

Caulking and Painting

The remainder of July we have been doing more caulking and have the painting about finished with. We put on the rest of the skirting around the bottom. Some areas need a second coat on the outside of the deck room and then that part is done with.

Lily got her hair cut finally. We put an old t-shirt on her and sun screen to keep her from getting sun burned until her hair gets thicker again. She has such pink skin.

We looked at what it was going to take to put in a nice fire pit and etc. which was going to be way more than the above ground one we found at a good price. It was going to be much less expensive buying this one. So now it's in.
