Caulking and Painting

The remainder of July we have been doing more caulking and have the painting about finished with. We put on the rest of the skirting around the bottom. Some areas need a second coat on the outside of the deck room and then that part is done with.

Lily got her hair cut finally. We put an old t-shirt on her and sun screen to keep her from getting sun burned until her hair gets thicker again. She has such pink skin.
We looked at what it was going to take to put in a nice fire pit and etc. which was going to be way more than the above ground one we found at a good price. It was going to be much less expensive buying this one. So now it's in.

First week of June, Than July

Youngest son K came up and help his dad with the soffit work on the deck two days before dh's hip replacement. They also got most of the skirting around the bottom of the deck room.

July, dh and I put up a new screen door on deck room.

A week ago the last of the spring flowers bloomed on one
of our bushes.

Progress On The Barn and Deck Room

We have made some progress on the barn lean-to and the outside of the deck room. Three of our young men came up and helped get the joists up on the lean-to. This was the Friday and Saturday before Memorial Day.

At the end of Saturday
We see people and people give treats.
The next week and the week following. Pick up brush time.

Siding the deck room

The needed brackets came to fasten down the joists.

June a few short days to go before Dh's hip replacement.

The flashing went up. Not perfect but it works :)

Monday the 8th of June dh went in for his hip replacement. Tuesday morning at 5 am I took this of the sun burnished trees as they slide into orange.

Spring, Sprung and Burnt Out Ele. Wires

Spring has come, well mostly. Flowers are popping up, Daffodils, mountain lilies, and etc. It seems we get everything yellow first.

Trying to get the limbs and etc cleaned up form what fell on the house last fall.

We have been canning up the fruit from the freezer. Rhubarb, raspberries, apples into applesauce, plums, peaches and apricots.

I made a very quick light cake, moist, no milk Fruit Cocktail Cake.

Fruit cocktail cake

1 & 1/4 c sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 & ½ c flour
Dash of salt
1 large can fruit cocktail, drained
Mix all ingredients together and bake at 350 deg 30 to 40 min. or until done. Serve with cool whip, ice cream or topping of your choice.

Youngest son K came up and helped dig up the old burnt out wire and lay the electrical conduit for the new wire to go in for the barn.

Spring Yes, Ticks Ack.

Dear husband found the first tick of the season on himself three days ago. I keep hoping for another frost to help get rid of them.

The tulip and daffodil leaves are up and we should be seeing blooms in a few days.

I made dh a couple of masks to use when he goes to town. As he takes a fried to the doctor once in a while because of the friends health problems.

Reminds me of this: daughter, son in law and grandson a few years ago. I just can't seem to think of the movie. She did a wonderful job on making these costumes.

The electric in the barn is only at half strength and dh has been trying hard to find out what the problem is. He even replaced some of the decades old wiring and I mean decades. Three weeks ago it was fine, now that we are getting ready for new chicks a big NOT.

One of my 4th cousins in our Barker descended family passed away, his sister posted that his wife called her this morning with the news.

Take care everyone and God Bless.

Snow's Melting Slowly

Yes, like most folks we are home pretty much all the time with this virus going around.

Dh has to take an older friend to the doctor once in a while as he has a bad health condition. Water on the brain and they are scanning his head today with dye and then repeating tomorrow again. They want to be sure of where to put the stent in.

No flowers are such up at our place yet. Drifts of snow are still around but the driveway is clear and some of the yard.

It snowed again last week. But that is pretty well gone now.

The trees were sure pretty.

I am out of the brace but the knee cap isn't healed all the way yet so I have to be careful another four weeks of what I do and not bend it beyond 90 deg. Fine with me, just happy to be out of the brace. If I go to do things outside I am supposed to wear it and it is set not to go further then the 90 deg.

Not much else going on here lol. Hubby's hip replacement surgery was canceled, which I feel bad about. Not much we cam do about it for now. Just hard for him to sleep at night because of the pain.

Y'all take care and God Bless.

Warming, Mild February.

So far it has been a mild Feb. We are so glad of that.

This past Wednesday dh had to take grain to the chicken coop and still the easiest way to do that is by sled.

I now have three weeks to go before I can start bending this with a hopefully healed knee cap. This was a week ago and the swelling is down from this even :).

The kitchen is back together after being in progress since last July. This same flooring went into the bath as well and is finished :) Just some baseboard needs to go on a couple of areas in both now.
