Welcome, I hope you enjoy my blog. I have links to the books I have written posted here. Along with a few family history links. I have projects we have done and are doing. Some ideas on food storage recipes and other hints. Along with our homestead chatter and crafts.

It Be Hot Out There
I know we may not get as hot as some places like the Lewis/Clark Valley 3,000 for down but this is hot for us. We got to 100 F. today and yesterday. It only stayed there about three hours and then dropped back into the 90's. It is down to 80 now at almost 8PM. Even the dogs wanted inside out of it. Tomorrow it's supposed to be a couple of degrees cooler.
I did manage to get a table top cloth made today as I stayed inside most of the day.

We also rearranged the living room last week. We don't have much choice but it's a little different. Also cleaned up and redid the old cup, tea pot and book shelf. A few of the books on the second shelf up are from the late 1800's up to the 1940's.
Tomorrow no matter what we have to get some outside work done. Dh isn't looking forward to all the weed eating that needs done. I hope he takes it in increments so his back won't hurt to much.
The rhubarb needs cut tomorrow as well.

The Broken Clothes Line T is Fixed
So nice to have the one clothes line T welded back together. My dh made these out of 4 inch pipe in 1994 and we dug them up when we moved and concreted them in here to use as well. So good to have it back to normal.
Borrowed welder. We had to haul it over and around to the front yard via the fields with a robe tied to it that I steadied it with so it wouldn't swing.
I want to wish everyone a very Happy 4th of July. A big thank you to all our ancestors that fought for our freedom. Also a big Thank you to those that have and still do.
