It has been raining most of the night; temps were 34 degrees this morning. Lots of mud and slush out there I tell you. The lower elevations are flooding with this fast melting.
The wild turkeys have been going through the area like crazy. One flock has one Tom and another flock has two Toms. All very big boys.
I have seen plenty of white tail and mule deer but no elk as yet.
The robins are out hopping all over the yard even trying to get around in all that snow we had a few days ago. There are song birds chirping just as the dawn starts to hit. It seems so strange to hear that this time of year with snow out there.

Food Storage and etc.
I just wanted to keep my thoughts and yours on food storage and preparing for problems as we face the storms of life or weather type storms hit in ones life.
Remember each time you shop pick something extra up. Its like eating an elephant-a little at a time.
Plus what a great help it is to have ways to cook
Here are some ideas that FoxNews had.

Family Preparation: Fire prevention: Test smoke detectors once in awhile. Change batteries every six months. Date batteries- Smoke detectors should be on each floor and outside each floor if possible.
Now that is spring and the weather is changing remember to check your 72-96 hour kit also known as a B.O.B. bag (bug out bag)
Recipe:
Turkey Enchiladas
2 Tbsp. oil1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 teaspoons garlic
1 ½ cups grated cheese
2 (15 oz) cans turkey or same in cooked turkey
4 cups water
Turkey chunks Salt to taste. Put tortillas in hot oil for a second or so to soften. Cool on paper towel. Separate turkey into shreds with fork, set aside. Put the 2 Tbsp. of oil in a hot frying pan and add flour to it; stir (do not let it burn). Add chili powder and water slowly until mixed (no lumps, please). If it is too thick, add more water. If it is too thin, add more flour for desired consistency. Dip the tortillas into sauce, and then add turkey and grated cheese into the end and roll up. Lay in baking dish until all are in the dish. Pour remaining sauce and cheese on top. Bake in microwave or oven until the cheese has melted.
One of the branches that came down. This one took out a secton of the garden fence.
