Farm Work and Remodel

We are working on things here little by little. Some things kept dh from getting on with the things already in progress. Like having to replace the rotors and brakes on the truck and brakes on the car. He said he didn't think he would still be doing things like this when he got into his 70's.

The neighbor came over and helped some on the front of the truck but dh did the backs and changed the brakes on the car with just me as go-fer.

He has been putting the block around the deck bottom as time permits. There is siding to go above the block.

Dh also power washed the outside of the house getting ready to paint.

I made a bag out of a pair of dh's old jeans that were repaired many times.                     Front
                                          With tie.
I put in several types of pockets.
Back with buttons to hold the pockets somewhat closed.

August almost gone & cooling.

Here we are at the 23 of August. The weather is cooling down. We had 48 deg. F. this morning.

The maple trees have already started to turn.

The work is ongoing here trying to beat the cold weather to come.

We were very happy to get a little rain a couple nights ago. The last storms that went though missed us completely but did get the Lewis/Clark Valley. So we are pretty dry. But we have had much drier years so this s fine.

We have been working at getting the lean-to up on the front of the barn, hauling wood and a couple of other things. Like getting ready to paint the house. Thank goodness we have a good paint sprayer.

We have hand rail, woohoo. :) It will be painted soon.

Got the block for enclosing the bottom of the deck room. It took several trips to get them to the front yard.
Of course Lillie is helping, not lol
The turkeys are growing well, but they tend to go on walk abouts and have to be herded back.  They like to follow the mules paths way to much. There is always one that wants to veer off so you have to be in constant movement left to right to get them staying on going where you want them to.
