Non-Food list:

Multi Vitamins 2 bottles adult and 2 bottles child if children in home
Rubbing Alcohol 2 bottles
Hydrogen peroxide 2 bottles
Hydrocortisone (anti-itch cream) 2 tubes any brand you like

Food List:

Evaporated milk 8 to 10 cans, if you can find this on sale buy a case
Condensed milk 6 cans
Pork and Beans 8 cans, nice for something quick, if you & family likes them buy a case
Lemon juice 2 large bottles, for canning fruits, recipes & making drinks

Recipe:

Hamburger rocks

Fry 5 pounds of ground meat. When meat is cooked transfer it to a colander and rinse the meat under hot water to remove fat. Place washed meat back into cleaned skillet. Fry meat again over med/low heat stirring often until you see no more steam. Keep flame low once the rocks are browning up nicely.

Place twice cooked rocks into an oven-roasting pan. Turn the oven to 200 degrees F, stirring and turning occasionally as meat continues to dry. One to two hours should be enough. Remove the meat from the oven and check for dryness. Store in Jar or Ziploc bag.

If you want to can the hamburger rocks for long-term storage, preheat some canning jars in the oven at 250 simmer lids as usual. Put the rocks into the jars while hot, and then seal jars. After 15 minutes or so the jars will cool and you will hear the jar lids "pop" as they seal in place.

Spiritual Preparedness, Start Early and be steady, Henry B Eyring

Most of us have thought about how to prepare for storms. We have seen and felt the suffering of women, men, and children, and of the aged and the weak, caught in hurricanes, tsunamis, wars, and droughts. One reaction is to ask, “How can I be prepared?” And there is a rush to buy and put away whatever people think they might need for the day they might face such calamities.

But there is another even more important preparation we must make for tests that are certain to come to each of us. That preparation must be started far in advance because it takes time. What we will need then can’t be bought. It can’t be borrowed. It doesn’t store well. And it has to have been used regularly and recently.

What we will need in our day of testing is a spiritual preparation. It is to have developed faith in Jesus Christ so powerful that we can pass the test of life upon which everything for us in eternity depends. That test is part of the purpose God had for us in the Creation.

Okayyyyyyy the house is vacuumed, clothes folded and I figured it was time to get this one. The last load of clothes is in the washer and will only need hung.

It has really been dry with no rain in sight and we have had to keep things watered int he garden. The potatoes are doing great and so are the green beans.

We hope we can get quite a few things done this weekend as we don't really have to go anywhere for change.

I just put things back in Dave;s 72 hour kit that he had used to go onthe canoe trip witht he young men.

Now you can make 72-96 hour kits for the whole family in a large plastic conatiner of some kind maybe with wheels and then indivial ones in a back backs with thiings you would need to survive for 3 to 4 days if you had to get out quickly. Here are a fw web addresses that can help you figure out what you woudl like best in yours.
