I have 9 gallons of lentil chili cooking today for Dave for tomorrow for work.
A 5 gallon pot and a 4 gallon pot.
10 pounds hamburger, 20 pounds of lentil, lots of tomato juice, paste, and # 10 cans diced tomatoes. 4 large dice wala wala onions, lots of garlic, cumin, chili powder, red peppers salt and paper, plus 2 cans of red beans and 2 cans of pinto.
The city provided the lentils and the meat.
I had forgotten to talk about the tomato products lol.

I also made a peach/pineapple up side down cake just for us. Man is it good. :)

We have a warm sunny day here and I have been hanging out clothes, I have a batch ready to go out right now but I had to take a 40 minute nap first.
There is rain moving in again Friday for several days after.
I had better take advantage of it while I can.

  2. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom. I'm 70 years old and have always canned or frozen food from my garden but have never really prepped until now.

  3. First time I checked out your blog. DH probably wouldn't want me checking out the books!! My addiction; what can I say? Will read the back posts. We got some nice weather and I hurried three loads out on the lines. After three weeks of rain and using the dryer I felt most frugal....DEE
